The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) plans to deploy biometric access control and vehicle tracking at the cargo terminal of Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA). The initiative aims to reduce congestion, curb unauthorized access and improve safety and security at the terminal. FAAN has engaged key government agencies operating at the terminal to sensitize them to the new access control measures.

Only registered, verified and authorized persons, businesses and vehicles will be allowed into designated areas of the terminal, with FAAN's Integrated Cargo Stakeholder Registry serving as the main reference for verification. Automatic Number Plate Recognition cameras and boom barriers will be installed on two of the four lanes at Gate One.
