- Spirit Airlines ceased all operations on 2 May 2026, marking the largest US airline shutdown in decades. Two former Spirit Airbus A320neos, registrations N950NK and N959NK, were scrapped at a Goodyear, Arizona scrapyard.
- The aircraft, aged four years and three‑and‑a‑half years respectively, had been purchased by EirTrade Aviation in February 2026 and flown to Phoenix Goodyear Airport, where AerSale operated the storage and scrapping facility that dismantled them. A third Spirit A320neo, N969NK, was purchased by Killick Aerospace and flown to Marana Pinal Airpark for engine removal.
