EASA issues security warning for Jeddah FIR area in Saudi Arabia

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has warned airlines to avoid a defined sector of the Jeddah Flight Information Region (FIR) in Saudi Arabia at all altitudes, citing heightened regional security risks, with the advisory remaining in force until 16 November 2026.

The warning follows an increase in Houthi drone and missile attacks on Saudi territory and is linked to a broader rise in attacks supported by Iran, with EASA noting that the threat extends beyond the Yemen border to include areas around Riyadh, Tabuk and Yanbu, and that the agency will continue to monitor the situation and assess risk levels for European airlines.
