Russia bans export of aviation kerosene and diesel until at least October 31

Russia has imposed a complete ban on diesel fuel exports and halted aviation kerosene shipments from June 1. The restrictions, which also cover gasoline and marine fuel, are set to remain in place until at least the end of October.

Export of aviation kerosene was banned from June 1.1 A complete ban on diesel fuel export was introduced on July 8.1 The embargo on diesel and marine fuel, as well as gasoline for non‑producers, will stay in effect until at least October 31.1 Russia has sufficient diesel fuel domestically but cannot sell oil products on the global market because of sanctions.3 The export bans reduce potential revenue from fuel sales for Russian producers and traders.13 Restrictions on aviation kerosene could affect fuel availability for airlines operating from Russian airports.1
