Taiwan Takes Delivery of First Two F-16V Block 70 Jets

Taiwan received the first two of 66 new F-16V Block 70 fighter jets on October 2, 2026, landing at Chihhang Air Base in Taitung after a ferry flight from Guam that originated in the United States.1
The aircraft will stay US property until a formal handover and acceptance checks are completed, and they arrived without their AN/ALQ-254(V)1 Viper Shield electronic warfare systems; additional jets are scheduled to arrive before the end of 2026 with the remaining aircraft expected in 2027 and 2028.1
