UK law bans airlines from charging parents to sit with children under 14

The UK government announced that, following Royal Assent of the Civil Aviation Bill, airlines operating in the UK must allow children under 14 to sit with a parent or accompanying adult without extra charge.1,2
The reform also requires airlines to correct simple name errors on bookings without fees, a change that could save families up to £104 on a return journey and avoid charges of up to £40 for minor name corrections, enhancing passenger flexibility.1,2
