Airbus resumes A330neo production after tail‑section tool discovery
Airbus has restarted production of the A330neo after a quality issue involving a forgotten tool discovered in the tail section of an aircraft. The manufacturer inspected every A330neo still in production and has tightened its control procedures. It has also been unable to deliver any A330neo aircraft for several months while addressing the problem.1
Airbus is working with the European Aviation Safety Agency to inspect A330neo aircraft that have already been delivered, and it advises operators to check the tail section during routine maintenance. The coordinated inspections aim to ensure safety and restore confidence in the model.1
