Spanish courts deem 2022 Ryanair minimum‑service rule unconstitutional

In 2022 the Spanish government imposed minimum service requirements on Ryanair cabin crew during a strike. The USO union lodged a complaint against the Ministry of Transport’s decision. The Constitutional Court later declared the measure unconstitutional because it lacked a clear justification.1
The Supreme Court had first ruled in favour of the striking workers. It subsequently reversed that ruling, overturning the earlier decision. The court’s finding highlighted the measure as a limitation on the constitutional right to strike.1
