Gilbert Rankin appointed Divisional Manager (Aerodrome) for Cayman Islands Fire Service
Gilbert Rankin will assume the role of Divisional Manager (Aerodrome) with the Cayman Islands Fire Service starting 1 September 2026, supporting the Deputy Chief Fire Officer (Aerodrome) in strategic leadership and emergency fire and rescue services.1
Rankin brings 39 years of aerodrome firefighting experience and 41 years of civil service, having previously served as Sub Officer, Station Officer (Aerodrome) and Acting Chief Fire Officer, and will manage aerodrome operations, respond to calls, supervise 30‑60 staff, and oversee equipment specification, procurement and personal protective clothing.1
