ICICI Life Insurance appoints Sidharatha Mishra as MD & CEO as Anup Bagchi joins HDFC Bank
ICICI Life Insurance Company appointed Sidharatha Mishra as its Additional Director, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer for a five-year term, succeeding Anup Bagchi who resigned effective October 13. Mishra will also assume the role of Chief Operating Officer from October 6. The appointments will take effect on October 14, 2026, or later pending approval from the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI).1
Mishra currently leads digital channels and partnerships, voice channel, customer service, and the NRI and IFIG groups at ICICI Bank, bringing more than 26 years of banking experience to the insurance business. The dual role consolidates leadership across ICICI Life’s operational and strategic functions.1
The new leadership is expected to guide ICICI Life through its next strategic phase once the IRDAI approval is secured.1
