Biman employee and passenger detained with gold at Shahjalal Airport
Customs officials at Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport detained a Biman Bangladesh Airlines employee named Obaidur Rahman and an unidentified passenger after seizing about 1.05kg of gold worth Tk 21 million from the employee’s shirt pockets and waist belt.1
Legal proceedings have been initiated against the individuals under the Customs Act, 2023 and other relevant laws, with the National Board of Revenue overseeing the case.1
