Heavy rain and flooding warnings hit Ireland, risking travel disruptions

Heavy rain, spot flooding and strong gusts are forecast for Friday across parts of Ireland, with the day expected to be the worst in the period. Sunny spells are predicted to move in on Saturday.1

Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow rain warning for one county until 12 pm, warning of difficult travelling conditions, poor visibility, localized flooding and strong gusts.3

Saturday is expected to be largely dry with plenty of sunshine and light southerly breezes.1
