Malaysia Aviation Group to acquire Sepang Aircraft Engineering from Airbus

Malaysia Aviation Group signed a Sale and Purchase Agreement with Airbus to buy Sepang Aircraft Engineering, a company with A320 expertise, a dedicated paint hangar and component repair services. The deal is part of the group’s Long‑Term Business Plan 3.0 and aims to boost its engineering and maintenance capabilities. The transaction requires approval from the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia.1

The acquisition is slated for completion in 2027, linking the Malaysian firm’s growth strategy with Airbus’s existing assets in the region. Strengthening engineering capacity is expected to enhance the group’s service offering for airlines operating in Southeast Asia.1

Finalisation of the purchase will occur once regulatory clearance is obtained, after which Sepang Aircraft Engineering will become part of Malaysia Aviation Group’s portfolio.1
