Thales to Deliver Five GM400 Alpha Radars to Ireland, Full Capability by 2028
Thales will supply Ireland with five deployable Ground Master 400 Alpha long‑range radar systems, with deliveries starting in 2027 and full operational capability expected by the end of 2028.1
The GM400α 3D radar can track targets up to 515 km away, offering a six‑second update rate and the ability to detect a range of objects from slow‑moving drones to fighter aircraft, enabling Ireland to build a complete recognized air picture of its airspace by the end of 2028.1
