India approves Rs 1.86 lakh crore Green Energy Corridor Phase‑III
UN Climate Change Executive Secretary Simon Stiell welcomed the Union Cabinet's approval of India's Green Energy Corridor Phase‑III, with a total outlay of Rs 1.86 lakh crore.1
The scheme is intended to integrate renewable energy into the power system, facilitate evacuation of around 135 GW of renewable capacity and deployment of 50 GWh of battery storage, while leveraging an estimated Rs 1.32 lakh crore in transmission investment and supporting economic growth and India's global solar leadership.1
