Heavy rain and thunderstorms warned for Istanbul and 10 other Turkish provinces
Turkey’s Meteorology General Directorate issued a yellow warning for heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong winds in eleven provinces, including Istanbul, Adana, Balıkesir and Kocaeli, for today and the weekend.1,2
The forecast calls for rain intensity and wind speeds up to 70 km/h along the Marmara and Western Black Sea coasts, with thunderstorms expected to affect large parts of the country, raising the risk of reduced visibility and runway contamination at nearby airports.1,2
