Suzuki asks Indian suppliers to shift to 6‑day, 20‑hour schedule by Sep 2027
Suzuki Motor has told its Indian component suppliers to stop production for one day each week to allow machine maintenance and to move toward a 20‑hour‑per‑day, six‑day‑a‑week operating model by September 2027.1
The change comes as Maruti Suzuki plans to raise its annual output to four million cars by 2030, up from about 2.4 million, and to expand exports toward half a million units in 2026, while Indian parts makers have traditionally run factories continuously for seven days a week.1
