FAA proposes changes to Maxwell AFB airspace in Montgomery, AL
The Federal Aviation Administration has proposed amending the Class D airspace at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama, and revoking the existing Class E airspace that extends from the surface at the installation.1
The proposal also expands the Class E airspace that begins at 700 feet above the surface from a 7‑mile radius to a 7.5‑mile radius to better contain instrument flight rule departures, and includes administrative updates to the Class E designation.1
