Thuringian firms poised to supply aerospace sector as industry expands
Around 100 companies and institutions in Thuringia are active in the aerospace industry, providing components such as electronics, optics, and material coatings rather than building whole aircraft or satellites, and the sector supports about 11,000 jobs in the state.1
The region’s technology has already been used in several international space missions, including the Artemis Moon program, and officials expect the aerospace and defence sectors to continue growing in the coming years, offering further opportunities for local suppliers.1
