Lufthansa Group launches Basic fare on all European routes from 6 Oct 2026
Lufthansa Group will roll out a Basic tariff on every European route starting 6 October 2026, covering Lufthansa, Lufthansa City Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Swiss, Brussels Airlines, Air Dolomiti and Discover Airlines.1
The fare includes only a personal item measuring up to 40 × 30 × 15 cm, while excess baggage will cost at least €15 if booked online in advance and €60 at the gate; the group also plans to test dynamic pricing for add‑ons such as baggage and seat reservations in the coming months.1
