Mangaluru railway region transferred to Mysuru Division of South Western Railway
The Mangaluru railway region has been moved from the Palakkad Division of Southern Railway to the Mysuru Division of South Western Railway, with the jurisdictional change taking effect at 12.01 am on Thursday.1
Mysuru Division has created a fourth control board to oversee operations in the region, while the Centre for Railway Information Systems prepared a minute‑by‑minute transition plan; the division now has operational control of railway assets such as stations, bridges, land and sidings, and the administrative and financial separation from Palakkad is expected to take 30 to 45 days.1
