Hawaiian Airlines adds 737‑800s to Honolulu‑Kahului service from Oct 3
Hawaiian Airlines will begin operating Boeing 737‑800 aircraft on the Honolulu‑Kahului route on October 3, running three round‑trips each day. The new jets will replace Boeing 717s on this route, although the 717s will continue to fly about 140 island‑wide flights daily. Hawaiian plans to retire its 717 fleet by 2028 and will brand the incoming 737‑800s with its own livery.1
The 737‑800s will be equipped with Starlink Wi‑Fi, and from the start date the airline will move the check‑in and baggage‑drop deadline to 50 minutes before departure, tightening the previous 30‑minute window.1
