India to require facial scans for airline staff and add full-body scanners after Flydubai
India will mandate facial recognition screening for airline and airport employees and install full-body scanners at eight major airports, a response to a Flydubai flight incident in which a co‑pilot attempted to take control and stabbed the senior pilot, an Indian national.1
The move is aimed at strengthening aviation security, and the government processes about 1.5 million airport entry passes each year.1
