Embraer and Mahindra eye C-390 final assembly line in Nagpur
Embraer and Mahindra have identified Nagpur as a potential site for a final assembly line for the C-390 Millennium transport aircraft in India, and they announced plans for maintenance capacities in February 2026. The Indian government must decide on the C-390 as a medium transport aircraft for the air force and place an order for it. The proposed facility would host final assembly, system integration, manufacturing technology and the creation of a local supply chain, with Indian companies gradually taking part in maintenance, training and support.1
The two companies have been collaborating on the C-390 since 2024 and signed a strategic cooperation agreement in October 2025, laying the groundwork for the joint venture and the potential expansion of domestic aerospace capabilities.1
