US Air Force’s 113 KC-46 Tankers Remain U.S.-Based, Plans Pacific Deployments
The United States Air Force operates 113 KC-46A Pegasus aerial refueling tankers, all of which are currently stationed at bases within the continental United States and have not been placed at overseas airfields.1
The service intends to permanently position roughly one‑third of the KC-46 fleet at various Pacific locations, while maintaining a hub‑and‑spoke model that centralizes the fleet at domestic hubs such as Travis Air Force Base.1
