Taiwan issues strong wind and rain warnings for northern and eastern regions

The Central Weather Bureau has issued a land strong wind warning for the northern and eastern parts of Taiwan as the northeast monsoon is expected to strengthen, bringing increased rainfall and lower temperatures to those areas.1,4
High temperatures of 28‑31 °C are forecast for the north while the south will remain warmer at 32‑33 °C, and lows will drop to 23‑27 °C in the north and east; the bureau also warned of a high chance of heavy rain and local short‑term showers, especially in the north and east, with a high UV index and rising ozone concentrations in the afternoon.1,4
