Heavy rains cause flooding near Mexico City International Airport

Heavy rains struck the eastern part of Mexico City on Thursday, flooding several municipalities including Iztapalapa, Iztacalco and Tláhuac, and affecting the Ignacio Zaragoza avenue that leads toward the Mexico City International Airport.1
The flooding also reached the Pantitlán Metro station and a bus stop on Eje 6 and Rojo Gómez streets, while residents reported water entering homes in the Agrícola Pantitlán colony, indicating widespread water intrusion in the area surrounding the airport.1
