Swissport launches 3,000 m² cargo facility in French sector of EuroAirport Basel‑Mulhouse

Swissport has opened a new cargo handling operation in the French side of EuroAirport Basel‑Mulhouse. The 3,000 m² warehouse includes dedicated customs and international handling zones and will initially serve airline cargo activities.

Swissport launched a new cargo operation in the French sector of EuroAirport Basel‑Mulhouse.123 The new warehouse provides 3,000 m² of cargo handling space, split into a 1,000 m² French customs zone and 2,000 m² of international handling space.13 Swissport Cargo Services France will initially focus on airline cargo handling activities.13 The new French‑sector operation will work closely with Swissport's established Basel cargo operation.13 Swissport handles more than five million tons of air freight annually and its Basel operation handled over 47,000 tons of cargo in 2024.2 Swissport's global cargo network comprises more than 120 cargo centres.2 The added handling capacity expands cargo distribution options for airlines serving the Basel‑Mulhouse region.13 Integration with the existing Basel operation could improve operational efficiency and support revenue growth for Swissport's cargo business.12 The dedicated French customs zone streamlines clearance processes, benefiting airlines and freight forwarders.13
