Former Delta pilot and girlfriend convicted of child sex abuse in San Francisco
Rustom Bhagwagar, a former Delta Airlines pilot, was arrested at San Francisco International Airport in July 2025 and later found guilty by a jury on Tuesday, while his girlfriend Jennifer Spitz Powell was convicted by a separate jury on Monday.1
Both were convicted of eight counts of sexual abuse of a child under 10 and 12 counts of forcible lewd acts on a child under 14, relating to abuse that began when the victim was seven and continued from 2017 to 2022, and each faces a maximum sentence of 230 years to life in state prison.1
