Airbus sells Malaysian MRO subsidiary to Malaysia Aviation Group

Airbus has agreed to sell its wholly owned Malaysian Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul subsidiary, Sepang Aircraft Engineering, to Malaysia Aviation Group, with the deal pending approval from Malaysia's Civil Aviation Authority.1

The transaction, expected to close in 2027, is intended to strengthen Malaysia Aviation Group's engineering and maintenance capabilities, broaden its aviation‑services portfolio and accelerate third‑party revenue growth, while giving Malaysia Airlines access to a major customer segment despite not operating the A320.1
