Google launches pilot to pay publishers for AI-generated content contributions
Google has started a pilot program called the AI contribution pilot that pays around 100 websites and blogs for content used in its AI results, with payments potentially reaching up to $1 million per year per publisher.1
Payments under the pilot vary widely, with many smaller sites receiving less than $1 000 over several months and some earning only 0.1% of their ad revenue, while several major publishers have declined to join in hopes of prompting a more generous offer from Google.1
