Girls in Aviation Day draws 2,000 attendees to Minneapolis airport

The twelfth annual Girls in Aviation Day took place at Flying Cloud Airport near Minneapolis on September 19, attracting about 2,000 participants.1

The event, organized by the Women in Aviation International chapter Stars of the North, showcased aircraft ranging from a single‑seat Schempp‑Hirth Arcus glider to a de Havilland Canada DHC‑2 Beaver on amphibious floats, and featured pilot Ashley Almquist arriving in an Aviat Husky, all without a marketing budget and relying on organic information spread.1
